Why won't he ask me out already?

i recently met this guy, and i know he's interested. he invited me to a party, he took me out to a feild, we talked about our values, and belifes, and family background ect. he texts me atleast once or twice every day, and says nice things like "i had fun, i'm sorry we didn't have more time together, i look forward to seeing you tomorrow" and he's ALWAYS the one to contact me first. he seems to be putting ALOT of time and effort into me, and this has all been in the span of a week. i appreciate his patience, but if he wants to make it official i hope he does it soon. if he decided to just be friends i'd be dissapointed, but it would be okay. the anticipation of not knowing whats going on is distracting me from my work and i wish he'd just let me know where he stands. do you think he definitely wants me and doesn't want to mess things up by rushing me? or is he still feeling me out?
