Firewall cannot be Enabled, how do I fix this?

When i go to pc health and security i try to enable the firewall, but it says index was out of range. must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. I'm running on Home Vista and using AVG free. I'm completely computer illiterate when it comes to these things and could use some help
